Latest Update: Kia has introduced a new variant for the Carens. In related news, Kia has launched the more powerful and feature-rich Carens and the MPV could soon come with a five-seater layout option.
Price: Kia’s MPV is priced between Rs 10.45 lakh and Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India).
Variants: It is offered in six trims: Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, Luxury (O) [new] and Luxury Plus.
Seating Capacity: Kia Carens comes in both six and seven-seater configurations. It could soon come with a five-seater layout as well.
Colours: Kia Carens is available in eight monotone colours: Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, Sparkling Silver, Intense Red, Glacier White Pearl, Clear White, Gravity Grey and Aurora Black Pearl.
Boot Space: It comes with a boot capacity of up to 216 litres.
Engine And Transmission: Kia has put three engines on offer: a 1.5-litre petrol (115PS/144Nm) mated to a six-speed manual, a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (160PS/253Nm) paired with a six-speed iMT or a seven-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic), and a 1.5-litre diesel (115PS/250Nm) which comes with an iMT gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Features: Its list of features comprises a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digitised instrument cluster, cruise control and electric one-touch folding second-row seats. It also gets ambient lighting in 64 colours, ventilated front seats and a single-pane sunroof.
Safety: In terms of passenger safety, it gets six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC) and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Rivals: Kia Carens is a rival to the Maruti Ertiga and XL6, Toyota Innova Hycross and some variants of the Toyota Innova Crysta.
