GREECE SAILING
23rd International Aegean Regatta starts off from Phaleron.
The 23rd International Aegean Regatta began off Phaleron in Greece on Friday (11/7). 60 sailing boats were at the start line, ready for an open seas regatta which continues a sailing tradition that dates back thousands of years. The finishing point is the historic island of Rhodes the following Saturday (19/7). In the meantime the vessels will cross first from Phaleron to the island of Parso, a distance of 90 miles. The second stage from Paros starts on Monday (14/7) with the competitors scheduled to reach Patmos the next day. The island of Kos is the next destination in preparation for the final stage to Rhodes. Though competition is a strong element in the Aegean Regatta, for many simply to take part in such beautiful conditions is reward enough.
