[sorry about the poor fwd video quality but thought it worth posting] Onboard with yours truly from a recent race at Croft Circuit in the E36 Compact (S52 M3 engine) that I share with David Shead. We had numerous issues over the weekend, the ABS pump failed so having to brake ridiculously early and with no trail-brake) and worn LSD we knew about got a LOT worse in testing and was virtually OPEN (had to use 3rd (and feather the throttle) at 25mph to stop inside wheel spinup). Quali was dry and we set 3rd fastest time (overall) but the race was VERY WET and the lack of ABS really hurt us. Also, we only had semi-slick race tyres and we really needed a specialist wet road-based tyre, most of the other cars you see had these and some even had race wets.
Sadly the front facing cam (GoPro 7 Black) whited-out the track so had to do some gamma correction to get some detail back (still really bad) but the rear cam footage was OK, apart from the fact that you can't turn off stabilisation on the Silver. Also, sadly the rear cams battery failed before the end of my stint.
We finished 5th in class which was very well earnt and looking at the data both David and I got as much as was possible to get out of the car. Despite the worn LSD, Andy Water of AWTracksport was able to tweak the car to give us a little less inside wheel slip which definitely helped.
Video is via GoPro camera, data acquisition and data overlay generation was via Race-Technology Software which is capable of extracting the data from the GoPro video files (if GPS enabled) and provide pro-level data+video analysis and professional looking data overlay'd videos.
