Louisville Police Arrest 28 Protesters on Night 4 of Breonna Taylor Demonstrations
Louisville Police said they arrested 28 people on September 26, during the fourth night of protests following the Kentucky attorney general’s announcement that no officers would be charged directly in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor.
Police released footage they said showed a small group of protesters setting plywood shields on fire in the street in front of the First Unitarian Church on Saturday. Footage from reporters on the scene shows a large group of demonstrators gathered inside the church as the citywide curfew commenced at 9 pm.
Police said a car in a Spalding University parking lot was set on fire with fireworks inside it, setting off small explosions. The windows at Spalding and Presentation Academy were smashed and graffiti was sprayed across several buildings, police said.
People said they asked those inside the church to remain there while police conducted an investigation and secured the area. Police said they arrested at least 28 people on Saturday night.
