Day #040 – Pak Chong: I’m late with postings. Doings Video takes time but also a good practice for me to get into this kind of work. Who knows where and how I can use these skills later. Look for new challenges next year. Maybe I became a guide for Thaifood 😊. I eat so much good things here. Should capture this to remember how to do. Today I started with coffee and toast in my hotel to prepare for cycling today. The Pak Chong Group has an off-day and try arranging a tour with some of the guys. Want to go for a long ride. About 80-100km. But couldn’t found for joining. Also, a language Problem. Remembers me to not forget my YouTube lessons for Thai language. Back to cycling. The tour started a little bit late because for the long ride I wanted to be equipped with a spare inner tube and a place on the bike to put my belongings. Don’t like to carry a backpack. To hot on the back. About 1pm (“by nying moong” in thai) I started the tour. From Pak Chong Rd. 2422 then Rd. 2235 passing the Pak Chong School ride on this road for about 23km to turn right into Rd. 2311 (sings pointing for “Kensington”). This Part was the most beautiful on the Tour. Nice scenery, local people working, nice villages and mountains. I was worried before, that I could be to step in the mountain for me. Going there is no problem. Stopped at a little shop to fill up with energy for cycling. They recommended me some thai sweets. Name is like “Kanumm kruk tau”. It was almost enough for the next 50km to go. Then I passed Toscana Valley with the little Pisa Tower. On that road you will also pass the Khao Yai floating market. Need to go there again to have a look at the market. Today it was to late to go there. Don’t want get back in darkness. Leaving the Rd. 2311 to Rd. 3052 which is joining the Kaho Yai National Park with the Toscana Valley and there you will find the National Park entrance. Lots to see there and there is one of the highest mountain in North Thailand. Bicycle Challenge for me. The last 25km from Khao Yai to Pak Chong ist the Rd. 2090 and pass the Highway No. 2. That’s the only difficult part of the tour. If you know how to do it is ok. Getting back to Pak Chong had some drinks and food. First in my hotel “baanchomkhao” here in Pak Chong with the lovely owners. They had special fish (“Bpa Som”, fish sour). It taste a bit sour. This came from the fermenting process. They put cooked and washed rice inside then wait a couple of days and fry the whole fish. Taste very good. Also my friends waited with food. Her Mama cooked a special soup. At the moment I forgot the name and ingredients. But as everything she cooks. It taste super good.
