Demonstration showing one method of preparing a casting tray for gel electrophoresis. Seal both ends of the casting tray by inserting the tray sideways into a gel electrophoresis chamber. Make sure that the sides are completely sealed, and that the agarose is almost cool to the touch before pouring the gel. If the agarose is too hot, it may leak out of the tray.
