How to fix an e-brake/brake warning light that seems to come on for no reason, especially when cold.
This applies to 1997 - 2001 Acura Integra, 1999 - 2003 Acura 3.2RL, 2001 - 2003 Acura CL, 1997 - 2001 Honda CRV and 1997 - 2001 Honda Prelude.
On the above listed Honda/Acura models, if the symptom is the Brake warning/E-brake light is coming on only when the vehicle is cold, the most likely cause is the master cylinder reservoir filter doesn't vent properly so fluid level in filter changes, causing the float to read inaccurately.
In most cases you just need to replace the master cylinder reservoir filter.
Master Cylinder Reservoir Filter: P/N 46666-S04-J02
Float (occasionally may also be needed): P/N 46662-S84-999
**The above part numbers are for the Acura models, they won't fit CRVs or Preludes. If you have a CRV the procedure is the same but do not order these part numbers. Look up the part numbers specific to your model because they be different**
Every time I say TL in the video I meant to say RL. This does not apply to TL's as far as I know. Manufacturers, please stop naming your cars with letters...
