Friends of the Cancer Centre is committed to supporting local cancer research, which is helping to improve outcomes for those affected by cancer across Northern Ireland. Your generous donations can have a vital impact in providing key infrastructure for the Northern Ireland Cancer Trials Network, offering access to the most advanced clinical trials for local people affected by cancer.
The charity works in partnership with the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research at Queens University Belfast as well as the NI Cancer Trials Network, who will directly facilitate the trial for their patients. From the support at initial diagnosis from our nurses, into the primary research phase, the establishment of a cancer trial, providing vital care for patients during the trial, and the collection of patient data, support is provided by Friends of the Cancer Centre funded staff at all stages.
All the research staff you are about to see are funded or supported by Friends of the Cancer Centre and are directly involved with the SPORT trial. Advancements in cancer research across Northern Ireland are significantly supported by the generosity you have shown to the charity, thank you.
