I'm a therapist specialising in helping people to overcome bruxism by resolving the underlying causes of teeth grinding & jaw clenching.
If you suffer from daytime or night time bruxism, I don't need to tell you about all the symptoms you may be suffering from: painful or damaged teeth; biting the tongue or cheeks; earache; neck pain; headache; migraines; jaw pain; distorted vision; tinnitus; enlarged jaw; decreased self-esteem; poor sleep etc. The question is, what can you do about Bruxism?
You may already use mouth guards or botox to try to control the jaw pain and damage to teeth caused by these behaviours, whether it's teeth grinding at night or clenching your jaw in the day. I look at these as a way to limit the negative impacts of Bruxism, rather than actually tackling the underlying causes.
The Bruxism Association suggests that up to 70% of people who grind their teeth & clench their jaws do so as a result of stress & anxiety. My approach is to help people get control of or completely resolve their stress, anxiety & other emotional disturbances (bad experiences from the past, traumas, difficult memories etc). Then we retrain the body to leave the behaviour of grinding and clenching in the past, returning the body to its natural state.
I offer a free strategy call to discuss your situation and how teeth grinding or jaw clenching is impacting you, and then show you a possible path you can take to to beat bruxism and put it behind you.
