Description
The need for carbon information in natural resources management is growing quickly in response to public interest. In this session, Duncan and Aurora will describe the Forest Service’s new approach to delivering carbon science for decision making on national forests. The speakers will cover key concepts, challenges, and information needs. Lastly, Duncan and Aurora will describe how the approach works and benefits for end-users.
Next months session is titled "Climate Alliance NWL: Regional LL Outcomes and a State Example".
Speakers
Duncan McKinley is a Natural Resource Management Specialist in the US Forest Service’s Office of Sustainability and Climate. His work focuses on finding ways to help national forests better inform decision making on carbon. Prior to this position, Duncan worked as a policy analyst, staffer for a US Senator, and as a scientist at the Rocky Mountain Research Station, where his research focused on forest carbon.
Aurora Cutler filters and disseminates complex scientific concepts for publication and distribution.
