Club MX Yamaha rider Phil Nicoletti’s comeback has been delayed due to a reinjury sustained in a practice crash. Nicoletti re broke his ulna which he had originally broken earlier this year.
Nicoletti fell during Monster Energy Supercross at Atlanta in April, breaking his ulna while competing in 250SX. He was expected to return to competition this summer, before the latest injury sustained on Tuesday.
Nicoletti announced this in a statement saying “You learn more in the darkest times than you do when everything is going to plan, You question all the sacrifices that come to reaching your goals. No matter how hard you work and stay committed to this craft, there is no guarantee it’ll go to plan as you’d like.”
“The lows make the highs that much better when you get there. Injuries heal, but the time wasted as you get older does not. Tuesday I had a crash. This resulted in breaking my ulna again to the point I need some more hardware. Back to square one, and the rebuild continues once again.”
Phil Nicoletti finished 12th in the 250 East championship after missing the final 3 rounds. Nicoletti was originally set to comeback for Pro Motocross at about this time but due to the re-injury of his ulna he will now be out until 2023.
Despite this, Nicoletti has re-signed with Club MX Yamaha for 2023. He will be racing in the 250 class for Supercross and stepping up to the 450 for Pro Motocross next summer.
