On Friday the 13th of October 2017, Sarens presented their new super heavy-lift crane, the SGC-140.
On their construction yard in Ghent they invited an international audience that could have a look in detail on one of the tallest cranes in the world. This innovative giant crane has a max. Load moment of 140.000 tm and a max. lifting capacity of 3200 mTons.
The crane will go to the TCO project in Kazahkstan and will carry out the installation of various Plant Modules from central locations in the plant for a period of approx. 3 years.
This is not the first Giant crane that Sarens has developed and built.
The first one, similar to this one with a slightly smaller Load moment of 120,000 tonmeters was introduced to the market in 2011 and started its international carreer at the Intel Plant construction in Chandler, Arizona, USA.
Since then the crane, named the SGC 120, successfully executed projects in China (Cosco), Cilicap, Indonesia (G8 E&G), Rabigh, Saudi Arabia (Saipem), Flamanville, France (EDF), Jamnagar, India (Reliance).
