Eastern Indonesia’s first railway line is under construction in South Sulawesi and is set to transform the province. The railway line will host freight and passenger transport, increasing connectivity that could improve the lives and livelihoods of many.
On Day 2, the AIC welcomed experts, including members of PAIR’s Research Advisory Panel to a policy forum to discuss the plans for the railway line from a national, provincial and industry perspective. This was followed by a panel discussion with PAIR researchers. They presented their findings to date alongside plans for the next stage of their research, which will inform strategies for realising the vision of a fully integrated and effective transport system.
