The UN secretary-general says attacks in Africa's Sahel region have grown from a regional to a global issue.
Antonio Guterres made the remark during his tour of West Africa, where he visited Senegal, Niger and Nigeria.
He also assured leaders that the UN's top priority is to see peace and stability in the region.
