This year, our annual David Whitehouse Memorial Lecture was given by William Gudenrath, who gave a fantastic lecture entitled 'The skill of the glassblower: its Roman-world ascent and Renaissance Venice zenith'.
In this talk, Bill spoke about the history of glassblowing, as well as showing the process through his demonstrations filmed in his studio.
The lecture begins with an introduction by Director Christopher Smith, who reflects on the life and legacy of David Whitehouse, who was himself Director at the BSR from 1974 to 1984.
