DO'S and DON'TS on the STAIRMASTER - Get the MOST out of your time. ☝️
✅ DO’S:
1) Stand Tall!
2) Head up!
3) Engage your LEGS! – Using both the quads and glutes. Minimal pressure on knees.
4) RELAX your breathing – Avoid short - gasping breaths to help maintain endurance and not get dizzy 😵💫
❌ DONT’S - Avoid these
1) “The Shrugger” – Putting excess tension on the neck and shoulders doesn’t usually leave them feeling too good. And this position takes weight out of your legs – which IS what we are trying to work, right? Right! 😉
2) “The Sleeper” – Again more excess stress where we don’t want it and it probably won’t feel too good on the back after a while
3) “The Huncher” – Whether you’re texting or keeping your head down – I want you to direct your eyes forward, stay engaged with the exercise and not get dizzy.
All three of these positions can place unnecessary stress on the body – Making it difficult to engage the legs and breath EFFICIENTLY!
Leave a comment if you have a particular exercise you struggle with or want me to break down for you. I'm happy to help.
