The Audi S1 is Audi's smallest S-model car and a performance version of the Audi A1. It has 227bhp derived from the Volkswagen group's EA888 2.0 litre turbo four cylinder, and permanent Quattro four wheel drive.
The Audi S1 is a small car of the German automobile manufacturer Audi , which at the Geneva Motor Show was presented, 2014. The name S1 was ever in the rally version of the Audi Sport quattro use. With 170 kW (231 hp) of S1 is the most powerful production model of the A1 series . More power was only limited to 333 pieces small series A1 quattro with 188 kW (256 hp). The S1 was from the summer of 2014 as a three-door and five-door Sportback offered at prices starting at 29,950 euros. A special feature in this vehicle class is the standard all-wheel drive quattro .
The Audi S1 is not only a new engine or equipment variant of the A1, but it shows the same time the facelift for the entire series. This is evident by the modified front and rear bumper, a wider but flatter grille as well as a new design of the taillights. The front lights are narrower and more angular and now have an arrow-shaped LED daytime running light. The latter is standard on the S1 including Xenon headlights and LED rear lights. In the interior, only details have been changed; for example, there are new chrome elements on the radio and the window lifters. 17-inch light-alloy wheels, a tire pressure control indicator, sports seats at the front with a fabric-leather combination, a black roof, a light and rain sensor as well as the automatic climate control.
New S1 is the audi drive select , a system may be affected between athletic, balanced and efficiently with the various vehicle settings such as the accelerator response. As with all S models from Audi, the exterior mirrors are also held in aluminum optics and other specific features are included in the S1: stainless steel pedals, sports leather steering wheel, four-flush exhaust system and special entry rails. The equipment at no extra charge also includes lumbar support brackets, an on-board computer and interior lighting in LED technology. Two new paint finishes (Vegasgelb Uni or Sepang blue pearl effect), a multifunctional leather steering wheel and a red lacquered brake caliper are available.
New use is the brake assist "episode collision", which after an accident prevents rolling of the vehicle and to thus avoid further clashes. The all-wheel drive works with a hydraulic multi-plate clutch at the rear axle. An electronic cross barrier is intended to provide better handling by braking the inside of the curve. Some components of the brake system, such as the brake discs, have been increased because of the higher performance. The electromechanical servo control was also more sporty. On chassis pivot bearing were modified front and comes at the rear instead of the torsion beam design a four-link variant used. The track of the vehicle has also been broadened and the shock absorbers of the sports suspension can be set in two stages (automatic or dynamic). The design of the four-wheel drive and chassis reduces the luggage compartment volume compared to the A1 by 60 liters to 210 or 860 liters with folded back seat backrests.
