President Cyril Ramaphosa has implored South Africans to emulate former President Nelson Mandela by serving people selflessly and with humility. The President was officiating at the Nelson Mandela Day events that took place in Mthatha and Qunu in the Eastern Cape. Two statues honouring Madiba were unveiled. The United Nations declared the 18th of July, which is the birthday of the global icon, Nelson Mandela International Day in 2009.
