Government's fund that compensates doctors and therapists for treating injured workers has not settled most of its bills since October 2019, forcing many private practices to go out of business. The Compensation Fund pays out more than R5 billion to medical practitioners and allied healthcare workers every year to treat 160 000 South Africans who sustain injuries on duty.
