Magasin du Nord
1870 Wessel & Vett opened a shop in Copenhagen in the then Hotel du Nord. The stores then changed their name to Magasin du Nord. After a few years, the building on Kongens Nytorv became too small for the rapidly growing company, and in 1893 Wessel & Vett were able to invite customers inside their newly built department store, modeled after the French department store Le Bon Marché in Paris.
