Factory resetting your PS5 before selling it ensures your personal data is removed and the system is ready for the next user. Follow these steps:
Backup Your Data (Optional)
Before resetting, back up your saved games and data if needed:
Upload to PS Plus Cloud (if subscribed):
Go to Settings - Saved Data and Game/App Settings - Saved Data (PS5).
Select Cloud Storage and upload your data.
Use External Storage:
Connect an external drive to your PS5.
Go to Settings -System - System Software - Back Up and Restore.
Deactivate as Primary Console
Ensure the console is no longer linked to your PlayStation Network (PSN) account:
Go to Settings - Users and Accounts - Other.
Select Console Sharing and Offline Play.
Choose Disable if it's active.
Perform the Factory Reset
Sign Out of Your Account:
Go to Settings - Users and Accounts - Sign-In ID and sign out.
Initiate Factory Reset:
Navigate to Settings- System- System Software- Reset Options.
Select Reset Your Console and confirm.
