In this episode we test five different microphones played on a Gibson '68 Les Paul Custom Shop straight into the Palmer Drei Tube Amplifier with the 1x12" Vintage Celestion speaker. Large condenser of the like of the Neumann U87i, the AKG C414 and the Audio Technica 4050 have been rigged together with the small diaphragm condenser JZ BT201 and the classic dynamic Shure SM57. All the microphones are on Cardiod mode (when multi-pattern is available) using the same Audient preamps and there is no Eq or Dynamic added on here, just the plain recordings volume matched into our Apogee Symphony AD converters.
Stay tuned for more!
