Reduce your broken rib pain using this method for getting in and out of bed. You use one hand as described in the video, and your other hand to help yourself get in and out of bed. Wrapping the rib cage tightly does help decrease pain. They used to do that for people suffering from rib fractures but the rib cage moves to help lungs expand and contract, and keeping them tightly wrapped for long periods cause lung issues, so they no longer wrap rib cages of rib fracture patients. However, creating that compression still does help lessen the pain associated with broken ribs, so you can do it yourself temporarily when you need it the most.
