Barbados’ tourism arrivals should get another boost with Cayman Airways commencing flights into the island from October 18 this year.

The announcement was made during a joint virtual press briefing with local and Cayman Islands tourism officials.

Barbados Tourism Minister, Ian Gooding-Edghill, is confident the route, which was in the planning for several months, will be successful.

Meanwhile, Minister of Ports and Tourism for the Cayman Islands, Kenneth Bryan, says the new route is a game changer. He revealed the expansion into the eastern Caribbean ties into the country's route diversification goals.
