NFL standings: Updated AFC, NFC playoff pictures for Week 14 of 2024 season
Who would be in the 2024-2025 NFL playoffs ahead of Super Bowl 59 based on the current AFC and NFC standings?
With seven weeks left in the regular season (minus the Thanksgiving and Black Friday games), here's an updated look at who would be in, who would be out, and where all the potential postseason teams would be seeded ahead of the Sunday and Monday action of Week 14:

AFC playoff picture
1. Kansas City Chiefs 11-1 (first place, AFC West): The Chiefs lead the Bills by 1.5 games for the top seed, lone bye and home-field advantage and also lose the head-to-head tiebreaker after losing in Buffalo in Week 11. They have clinched a playoff berth and will lock down a ninth consecutive division title with a win over the Chargers on Sunday night.
2. Buffalo Bills 10-3 (champions, AFC East): The Bills clinched their fifth consecutive division title by beating the 49ers at home in Week 13, but they hurt their chances to catch the Chiefs by being upset by the Rams in a road thriller in Week 14. They still stay at No. 2 with a strength-of-victory tiebreaker over the same-record Steelers,
3. Pittsburgh Steelers 10-3 (first place, AFC North): The Steelers lead the division by two games over the Ravens after beating the Browns in Week 14. They also hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Ravens, who have a bye in Week 14, courtesy of a win in Week 11.
4. Houston Texans 8-5 (first place, AFC South) The Texans hold a two-game lead and the tiebreaker over the Colts as they seek to repeat as division champions. Both teams have a bye in Week 14. The Texans will find it difficult to finish higher than the No. 3 seed.
5. Los Angeles Chargers 8-4 (second place, AFC West): The Chargers hold a half-game lead for the top wild-card spot over the Ravens despite losing to the Ravens in Week 12. They would get jumped by the Ravens again should they lose at Kansas City in Week 14 and lose any chance of winning the Wes.t
6. Baltimore Ravens 8-5 (second place, AFC North)
7. Denver Broncos 8-5 (third place, AFC West)

8. Indianapolis Colts 6-7 (second place, AFC South)
9. Miami Dolphins 6-7 (second place, AFC East)
10. Cincinnati Bengals 4-8 (third place, AFC North)
Who's left?
11. Cleveland Browns 3-10 (fourth place, AFC North)
12. Jacksonville Jaguars 3-10 (third place, AFC South)
13. Tennessee Titans 3-10 (fourth place, AFC South)
14. New York Jets 3-10 (third place, AFC East)
15. New England Patriots 3-10 (fourth place, AFC East)
16. Las Vegas Raiders 2-11 (fourth place, AFC West)
All of these teams have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

NFC playoff picture
1. Detroit Lions 12-1 (first place, NFC North): The Lions opened Week 14 by beating the Packers in a Thursday night thriller at home to clinch a playoff berth and maintained their top-seed lead at one game over the Eagles and their division lead at one game over the Vikings.
2. Philadelphia Eagles 11-2 (first place, NFC East): The Eagles need to work a little harder than expected to take care of business against the lowly Panthers in Week 14 to keep pace with and keep putting the pressure on the Lions ahead of them.
3. Seattle Seahawks 8-5 (first place, NFC West): The Seahawks beat the Cardinals on the road in Week 14 to complete a late-season sweep and also put two games of distance between the teams. The Seahawks now lead the division by a game over the winning Rams.
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7-6 (first place, NFC South): The Buccaneers, who have won three consecutive division titles, are back in first place by a game over the Falcons after beating the Raiders at home in Week 14.
5. Minnesota Vikings 11-2 (second place, NFC North): The Vikings routed the Falcons at home to keep pace with the Lions and also went up two games on the losing Packers for the top wild-card spot.
6. Green Bay Packers 9-4 (third place, NFC North): The Packers lost a tough game to the Lions on Thursday night to dash their hopes of winning the division, down three games and a tiebreaker with only four games left.
7. Washington Commanders 8-5 (second place, NFC East)

8. Los Angeles Rams 7-6 (second place, NFC West)
9. Atlanta Falcons 6-7 (second place, NFC South)
10. Arizona Cardinals 6-7 (third place, NFC West)
11. San Francisco 49ers 6-7 (fourth place, NFC West)
12. Dallas Cowboys 5-7 (third place, NFC East)
Who's left?
13. New Orleans Saints 5-8 (third place, NFC South)
14. Chicago Bears 4-9 (fourth place, NFC North)
15. Carolina Panthers 3-10 (fourth place, NFC South)
16. New York Giants 2-11 (fourth place, NFC East)
The Giants are the only team eliminated here because the Panthers can still win the NFC South.
