Burchell's Starling (Lamprotornis australis) Video & Bird Call

The Burchell's Starling is probably the second most common Starling species in the Kruger National Park, after the Greater Blue-eared Starling.

They love all wooded and open areas, and can often be seen on the roads searching for food and hunting for scraps. They do occur in less popular camps, where there is not too much commotion.

The Burchell's Starling is a lovely bird, and is often confused with the Meve's Starling in the north, but the key is to look at the length of the tail.

The background of this video shows the call of the Burchell's Starling, when they are in a group, they are quite gregarious at times.
