Seven people died in a devastating fire that broke out at 5 am on Sunday in a hotel being used as a COVID-19 isolation centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada.
According to officials, one person was charred to death, while others died due to suffocation.
A National Disaster Response Force team brought the dead bodies out of the hotel wearing PPE kits and other safety equipment.
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
