Big bull elk are as tough as they come, often able to absorb multiple rounds through the vitals before expiring. Aaron's excellent quartering-to shot punctures both lungs, yet incredibly, the expiring bull continues to attempt to take breaths, expelling big clouds of steam through the wound channel and into the cold September air. Aaron follows up with another well-placed shot to anchor him.
