Born in Viena in 1914, died in Belgrade 1996. He graduated as pupil of Petar Dobrovic. His work is in expressionist and ornamentalist style. Inspirations come from ancient Balkan ornaments, gravestones and traditional sculptures. He was working in various media including paintings, murals, graphic arts and textiles. He wa member of prominent art groups "Samostalni" (Independent) and "Decembarske grupe" (December group).
Slikar, rođen u Beču 1914, umro u Beogradu 1996, učenik Petra Dobrovića, inspirisan scenama i ornamentima na stećcima, ekspresionista i simbolista. Bavi se slikarstvom, tapiserijom i grafikom. Bio je član grupe "Samostalni" i "Decembarske grupe".
At the age of 10, he moved to Belgrade, where he finished the Graphic School. He attended a drawing and painting course by Petar Dobrović. He visited Paris, Greece, Italy, Switzerland and Hilandar on study trips, where he perfected his artistic work. He found his inspiration in folk, folklore and religious art. He was engaged in painting, tapestry, graphics and muralism. He was a member of the group "Samostalni", "Decembarske grupe", the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia and the Graphic Collective. He realized his first solo exhibition in 1952 in Belgrade, and the last one in 1985. He has organized a total of 20 solo exhibitions. He also painted the first mural in Belgrade in 1970, which has not been preserved. His works have been preserved in national collections. He expressed his style by using simple geometric symbols defined by a black contour, a palette of basic colors and a simple composition of the work. He was buried in the Alley of Deserving Citizens in Belgrade.
