READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH AND TO LEARN THE MEANING OF ENOUGH ON MY PLATE: So there's another saying with the word "plate" in it. We did one a few months ago but this one is, "..enough on my plate.." A plate, by the way, is something that you eat off of. Here is the plate that I used for supper earlier. It's already clean. It went through the dishes. But, if you have enough on your plate it means that in life you have just enough things to do to keep you busy, but usually not too many that you're going crazy. So for myself, I have enough on my plate. I enjoy being a dad. I enjoy being a good husband and helping Jen on the farm. I enjoy my job, and I enjoy Youtube videos. But between all of those things I have enough on my plate and I really, really enjoy it. So, hopefully you have just enough on your plate to have a really, really enjoyable life and hopefully every day is fun.
So we have the phrase, "..enough on my plate..", we also have, "..a lot on my plate..", and we did this phrase earlier, I think a couple months ago. When you have a lot on your plate it usually means you have a little bit too much on your plate. Maybe you're a little bit too busy and I should tell you how to do this one in the past tense. You would say, "Yesterday I had enough on my plate. Today I have enough on my plate.", and, "Tomorrow I will have enough on my plate or I am going to have enough on my plate."
