Lydian Webinar: International Data Transfers – Where Do We Stand?
Today, businesses are more and more operating in a global market and transferring personal data cross-border, including to non-EEA countries. Moreover, nearly every company has recourse to cloud service providers to store or process personal data since such technology is more flexible and often less expensive. The foregoing however raises questions regarding international transfers of personal data.
Since our last webinar of 23 July 2020 on the impact of the Schrems II case, there have been some interesting developments in the area of international data transfers. Recent examples include the EDPB’s Guidelines 05/2021 on the Interplay between the application of Article 3 and the provisions on international transfers and the EDPB’s study on government access to data in third countries.
Hence, Lydian’s data protection team organised a follow-up webinar that took place on 17 February 2022 between 11.30 and 13.00.
