Many people who run with very thin, so-called barefoot shoes very often get a somewhat special running style. In fact, even runners in more normal shoes can adopt this running style if they think it's better to run more on the forefoot or deliberately try to run in a way that they think reduces the risk of injury. It is a more cautious running style where they like to reach out a little bit more in front of them and put their forefoot down first by dipping their toes down a little diagonally forward/down. There are several reasons for this. One is that there are less vertical forces, which is usually perceived as reducing the risk of injury. But this running style generally increases the use of the calf muscles, which in turn can result in much greater increases in load on (for example) the tibia than the reduced vertical force on the tibia, which increases the risk of stress fracture.

"The best money I have ever spent. Great mix of humour, practical technique and theory. It’s brilliant and I have been telling all my friends about it. I’ve knocked 30 secs off my average pace to 4:30 and at 53 I’m absolutely astonished how relaxed I feel running. It’s also really helped my cycling my adapting similar techniques and visualisation. Thanks so much."

"I knew nothing about running other than put one foot forward in front of the other...and fast. Then I signed up for his course. Mind blowing!... and too cheap if you ask me. Totally recommend it."
