Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, who had accused former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh of denying access to party workers and people, is facing a similar charge in his own constituency.
In one video that went viral, Navjot Singh Sidhu along with his supporters was seen passing a lane of houses with closed doors. While in another video, Sidhu's wife faced the anger of a voter, who alleged that Sidhu was not accessible to the people.
Sidhu, who is locked in a triangular contest with the Akali Dal and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Amritsar East assembly constituency, has finally realised that seeking votes without being accessible is not possible.
Navjot Sidhu while addressing two people in the Golden Avenue area of his constituency, tendered a public apology for not being accessible.
Sidhu said, "My biggest mistake is that I could not establish direct contact with you. I could not meet workers who wanted to meet me at 1:30 AM. I had promised the people of Amritsar that I would never leave Amritsar. I gave up the cabinet berth. In the future, there will be a landline number. I will respond within one hour to the party workers who call me. This is my guarantee. I accept my mistake."
