On 17th September, 2019 Sarah Thomas (USA) made history by becoming the first person to complete an epic FOUR Way solo swim of the English Channel. What made it even more remarkable was that Sarah was recovering from breast cancer only the year before.
BBC Radio Five spoke to Dr. Julie Bradshaw MBE, herself a World Record holder for the Channel, on Butterfly back in 2002, and some twenty three years after she completed her first solo swim of the Channel aged only fifteen back in 1979.
Julie speaks about the amazing 54 hour and 10 minutes swim that Sarah did to BBC Five Live.
