A recent report is highlighting the struggles the Dauphin County Prison (DCP) is up against.
The 62-page report noted specific areas that need improvement--including use-of-force, in-custody deaths, and staffing and retention.
According to the report, there's an estimated 20% turnover rate among new hires within the first year.
Pennsylvania Prison Society volunteer director, John Hargreaves, said the most staggering takeaway from the report, in his opinion, is how staffing plays an impact in the quality of life for inmates.
