Corbin Burnes, the 2021 Cy Young winner, has signed a massive six-year, $210 million contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks, a bold statement by the team as they look to remain competitive in the NL. The deal includes an opt-out after two years and is the largest in Diamondbacks history. Burnes, a Scottsdale resident, turned down offers from the San Francisco Giants and Toronto Blue Jays to join his local team.

Meanwhile, Teoscar Hernández has re-signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on a three-year, $66 million deal, including a $23 million signing bonus. The outfielder, who was key to the Dodgers' 2024 World Series victory, will stay with the team for at least three more years, bolstering their championship hopes.

Elsewhere in free agency, Gleyber Torres has agreed to a one-year, $15 million contract with the Detroit Tigers, while the first-base market has started to see some movement. Christian Walker joined the Houston Astros on a three-year, $60 million deal, prompting the Arizona Diamondbacks to trade for Cleveland's Josh Naylor. The New York Yankees have also added Paul Goldschmidt on a one-year, $12.5 million contract.

With big names like Pete Alonso still available, MLB teams continue to bolster their rosters as the offseason progresses.
