Laundry rinse products are relatively new, they came out last year, and are a bit confusing. So this is my explanation (as a dry cleaner) of them!
Basically they’re a super low pH (around 2-3) rinse product that is dispensed at the end of the laundry cycle (during the rinse phase).
This acidic formulation penetrations deep into fibers which helps dissolve hard metals and remove odors. It’s very similar to a product us dry cleaners use during wet cleaning (water based cleaning) called laundry sour.
It’s basically supercharged white vinegar that uses citric acid instead of acetic acid (in vinegar) which is much much better at cleaning clothes and is less damaging to your machine.
To use it, pop some in your fabric softener slot and ensure that the fabric softener dispense button is turned on.
This stuff is a miracle worker on synthetic / gym clothes as it helps strip body oil (sebum) which is the main cause of malodor causing bacteria.
And no, this is not an ad, but a product thats very new and beneficial!!! Plus it keeps laundry fresh for up to a day in case youre like me and forget to transfer your laundry from the washer and dryer.
I hope this makes sense / helps
