Police have announced that the suspected shooter in the homicide of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, Luigi Mangione, was not a client or customer of UnitedHealthcare, which the health care company confirmed in a statement. "[He] was not a member" or "client" of UnitedHealthcare. There was much speculation that may have been behind his motivation or motive. It has also been reported that Mangione targeted the company because of its size in the industry in general.
