Nearly a month after 30 public schools in Newark cut off their drinking water because of high levels of lead, Gov. Chris Christie has announced New Jersey will spend $10 million for a remediation program for low- and moderate-income households.
This comes just before Michelle Obama's visit to Newark's Philip's Academy Charter School on Thursday to promote health and gardening. Christie said he does not know if the first lady will talk about the lead problem.
