The carbohydrate-insulin hypothesis of obesity and diabetes
The hypothesis suggests that when people have a dietary pattern that has a lot of refined carbohydrates, they start gaining fat because carbohydrates increase insulin production in the body which reduces energy expenditure.
Based on this hypothesis, if you want to lose fat or alleviate symptoms of diabetes, you just need to eat less carbohydrates without paying attention to calories.
