On September 27, 2012, the Cancer Support Community hosted an informative webinar, Frankly Speaking About Advanced Breast Cancer: Improving Patient-Provider Communication and Shared Decision Making to improve communication between patients with advanced breast cancer and their health care providers. Geared towards allied health professions, the webinar discussed physical and psychosocial issues typically experienced by patients with metastatic breast cancer, factors that they often consider when making treatment decisions, as well as successful decision support and treatment counseling programs to assist them in prioritizing their concerns and treatment goals so they can make more informed treatment decisions. The webinar featured an esteemed panel of professionals with rich experience and insights into this aspect of patient care.
