A corneal abrasion can cause a cloudy vision because when there is a corneal abrasion, there is more accumulation of the fluid. When there is more accumulation of the fluid, the cornea which is very thin structure starts getting swollen up and thereby the vision can get cloudy. It can also cause epithelial debridement, that is the outer layer of the cornea can get damaged. Epithelial debridement can be painful. When there is painless clouding of vision, it is more likely that the cornea is swollen up and this can cause blurring of the vision. Management can be over a period of time and it has to be by an ophthalmologist. In addition to the antibiotics, they will give some agents to reduce the swelling of the cornea over a period of time and they will assess if there is added inflammation in the eye which needs to be treated. So an appropriate management has to be seen by an ophthalmologist.
