Join us today at Squires Cafe in Sherburn in Elmet for our first (recorded) ride out of 2024. It's been a long winter. First the house move, then Beanie's bike falling over and what about all of those storms?
Well today the sun is shining and although it's blowing a gale, we plan to do the short 35 mile from Squires Cafe into the Yorkshire Wolds to Seaways Cafe in Fridaythorpe. We've done this ride many times on many bikes in the past and it was interesting to see just how much has changed.
We left Squires riding north east through Cawood, the scene of a huge flood last year and on to Naburn, notable for the huge number of boats that are stored there over the winter. We'll reach the York ring road and take one junction on the A64 before taking the Stamford Road turn off to Stamford Bridge and on to Fridaythorpe and Seaways Cafe for tea and cake. They are lovely people there, do give them a visit if you're passing.
It was lovely to see so many folks out on their bikes despite the wind which played havoc with our sound recording. We've done our best to fix it.
We've got some great rides planned for 2024 and in this video we share news of our summer tour. We'd be interested to hear your thoughts in the comments.
