“We know where the prison is and, you know, oh, gosh, that's so close. But I don't think, I had and probably my neighbors had any expectation that he would be coming here. Early Friday morning, I was awakened by the sound of a dog barking. And it wasn't my neighbor's dog. So I looked out my window and it was surreal. There were police cars, more than 20 police cars all lining over there down the street with police dogs. And and I think that for as long as he's at large and staying in this general area, people have, you know, will have a higher level of anxiety.”

14. SOUNDBITE (English) Nik Hatziefstathiou (pronounced – HAT-ZEE-eff-sta-the-o), a freelance investigative journalist:
“We are here basically to do a live stream of any activities in the area, to give the residents at least some ease ad comfort knowing that there is a police presence here. There are police vehicles around. You can hear a shopper overheard. It’s very fluid scene and that is what we want to show people. We didn't expect it to turn into a story that the public, at least in Chester County, would rely on us for information for. So, that became now a task force. We can't back off after building that presence with them and giving them the coverage, they want.”

ANNOTATION: The escape and manhunt have attracted international attention and became big news in the escapee's native country, Brazil.
STORYLINE:
Residents in a suburban Philadelphia remain on edge as authorities continues searching for a convicted murderer who escaped from prison last week.
Prison officials said on Wednesday that 34-year-old Danelo Cavalcante was able to escape a prison yard by climbing up a wall and over razor wire.
Cavalcante has been spotted six times since he escaped Thursday from the Chester County Prison. The most recent sighting came Tuesday night when he was spotted in a residential area, but he soon disappeared into the woods.
Debbie Warner lives in one of the areas where Cavalcante was seen. She said many residents remain on edge but are reassured by presence of law enforcement.
The fugitive hunt also has brought in a freelance investigative journalist Nik Hatziefstathiou to the area since last week. Some of his social media posts on X has racked up over a hundred thousand views. Many locals have said they are relying his information for the update on the search.
