At least seven people were killed on Thursday after severe storms moved through parts of the U.S. southeast.
The storms brought high winds, heavy rain and multiple reported tornadoes in Alabama and Georgia, with overturned cars and ripped off roofs left behind as people assessed the aftermath hours after the weather.
"The storm came real bad and then I had..." Selma, Alabama resident Sanders told a reporter before breaking down into tears. "Thank God I'm still here."
Six of the deaths were reported in one county in Alabama, with at least 12 others injured. Officials say the extent of the damage may not be known until later in the day on Friday.
