The tips of these core drill bits are coated with diamonds, which makes them capable of cutting holes into hard surfaces, such as, ceramic tiles, glass bottles and aquariums, porcelain sinks, granite and marble countertops, etc.
The positioning fixture with a suction cup, that comes with the drill bit set, is a real life-saver, since it helps keeping the drill bits in place while drilling. Without the fixture it will be very hard to drill on the exact place where we want to.
The sizes of the diamond core drill bits are as follows:
6.3 mm ~ 0.248 inch
8 mm ~ 0.315 inch
10 mm ~ 0.394 inch
12 mm ~ 0.47 inch
20 mm ~ 0.787 inch
25 mm ~ 0.984 inch
30 mm ~ 1.18 inch
35 mm ~ 1.378 inch
40 mm ~ 1.575 inch
50 mm ~ 1.97 inch
When you drill into hard things like ceramic tiles and glass bottles, you need to lubricate the surface while drilling, in order to make the process faster and to preserve the drill bits. People usually use water or some kind of oil. In my case I relied on a good trick I borrowed from another YouTube video, which is using a plastic bottle of water with a tiny hole in the middle. When the cap is on, the water doesn't run out, but when you start to unscrew the cap, the water starts pouring out slowly.
Make sure to take your time and not to press too hard, especially while drilling into glass, because it may cause some chips or cracks to appear.
