While seals and sea lions are both part of the pinniped family, there are differences between the two!
Seals have stubby front feet compared to the large front flippers of a sea lion. As a result seals rely more on shuffling and gliding on land, whereas a sea lion can support its weight on its front flippers to walk.
Sea lions have outer ears. Seals lack external ears altogether. You have to take a close look to see the tiny holes on the sides of a seal.
