US President-elect Donald Trump has named his new ambassador to Panama as he threatens to regain American control of the Panama Canal.
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera was announced for the role in a statement released by Donald Trump on Wednesday.
Mr Trump has been critical of China’s growing influence in running the critical shipping lane but it all prompted pushback from the country’s president.
