Justin Medeiros and Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr are your 2021 CrossFit Games champions. This is Toomey-Orr’s fifth consecutive CrossFit Games title, which ties her with Mat Fraser for most CrossFit Games titles — she remains the winningest woman in the history of the sport. The Australian athlete also broke the record for most CrossFit Games event wins with 30 wins (Fraser previously held the record with 29 wins). The new event win record is 33. During her post-Games interview, Toomey-Orr confirmed that she will be competing again.
Since Mat Fraser retired from competitive CrossFit in February of 2021, fans wondered who would succeed him atop the Games podium for the first time since 2016. After Day Two, it became clear that the fight for first was between Patrick Vellner and Medeiros, who was a Games sophomore in 2021. At 21-years-old, Medeiros earned third place at the 2020 CrossFit Games. At 22 years of age, Medeiros is the youngest man to ever win the CrossFit Games.
