1400s Gringonneur "Charles VI Tarot" (Estensi) by Marco Benedetti. Is this trionfi deck earlier than Visconti-Sforza? Marco Benedetti has recreated an early trionfi deck originally commissioned, arguably, for King Charles VI of France. Charles VI was, apparently, insane and was called Charles the Mad. Marco Benedetti has pieced together this tarot from several trionfi decks in several museums. The Charles VI deck features 78 cards and 12 extra trumps for a total of 90 cards.
